Monthly example. The €100 is not the reduction in your take-home pay. We will discuss the effect on your net salary and the eligibility conditions with you individually.
Save on income tax Within the statutory limits, eligible contributions to your workplace pension (betriebliche Altersversorgung, or bAV) are paid from your gross salary before tax. This can reduce the income tax you currently pay.
Reduce social security contributions Within the statutory limits, your social security contributions may also decrease. Whether and how much you benefit depends particularly on your income and insurance status.
The reduction in your take-home pay may therefore be lower than the gross salary converted. We will calculate your individual figures during the consultation.
2026 contribution limits Subject to the statutory conditions, eligible contributions to a Direktversicherung, Pensionskasse or Pensionsfonds are generally exempt from income tax up to €8,112 per year and from social security contributions up to €4,056 per year . Employer contributions and salary conversion count together towards the respective limits. Existing arrangements and special rules may affect the remaining allowance.

What should I consider alongside the benefits? Benefits funded by tax-advantaged contributions are generally taxable when paid out. Depending on your insurance status, health and long-term care insurance contributions may also apply.
Paying lower social security contributions may reduce your statutory pension and certain earnings-replacement benefits. We also consider contract costs and your options if you change employer.
What will we discuss? Employer contributions, your own contribution and your existing pension provision. We also explain costs, tax treatment, possible social security contributions in retirement, effects on statutory benefits and your options if you change employer.
Do I have to decide straight away? No. The consultation is for your information. Requesting an appointment does not conclude an insurance contract.
Which documents do I need? For your initial enquiry, your contact details and the topic you would like to discuss are sufficient. Please do not submit payslips, health information or contract documents here. If documents are needed, we will agree on a suitable way to send them.
